The Tropical Storm with international name “Lan” has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and was named “Paolo,” the state weather bureau PAGASA reported late Monday evening.
In its 11:00 pm bulletin, PAGASA said the center of Tropical Storm Paolo was estimated at 940 kilometer east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar with a maximum sustained winds of 80 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 95 kilometers per hour.
The Tropical Storm is moving in the west northwest direction at 11 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA added that the estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 425-kilometer diameter of the storm.
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued at 11 AM on Tuesday. —R4A/DOST-PAGASA
