New DILG Lucena City OIC-Director named

A new Officer-in-Charge (OIC) – City Director has been appointed to lead the operations and implementation of programs and projects of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Lucena City.

Through Regional Order No. 2017-789, Regional Director Manuel Q. Gotis, CESO III has designated Local Government Operations Officer VI Danilo Nobleza, former chief of the Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), as the OIC – City Director of DILG Lucena City, replacing Vilma B. De Torres who will return to her original post as the Chief Administrative Officer of the DILG Regional Office IV-A.

The new OIC- City Director officially assumed to his post on Wednesday, January 3. During his first day, Nobleza met with the employees of the DILG Lucena City Office and key officials of the City Government of Lucena to impart his commitment and expectations to the new post assigned to him.

In his message, Nobleza vowed to effectively and efficiently implement the programs, projects, and activities of the Department and further improve the operations of the DILG Lucena City. He also thanked the regional management for the trust in appointing him as the head of the region’s highly-urbanized city office.

“Layunin ng ating Departamento [DILG] na makapagbigay ng epektibo at mabilis na serbisyo sa inyo at ‘yon po ang ating gagawin kung kaya’t hinihiling ko po ang inyong pakikiisa para sa mga programa ng DILG (It is the Department’s [DILG] mandate to deliver effective and efficient services to the public and this serves as our main goal thus I am asking your full support for the programs of the DILG.”, said Nobleza.

“Rest assured that all the programs of DILG will be implemented in Lucena City and all the reportorial requirements will be forwarded to the regional office at the earliest possible time,” he explained.

Nobleza rose from the ranks as he started serving the Department as a job order employee, technical staff and then later became chief of the DILG IV-A PDMU where he handled implementation and monitoring of DILG’s flagship programs such as the SALINTUBIG (Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig Para sa Lahat), Performance Challenge Fund, and the Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities (ADM) program.—AJG/R4A
