Episode 9: Sangguniang Kabataan Mandatory Training Program

The upcoming barangay and youth polls will be the first election for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) after the passage of Republic Act 10742 or the SK Reform Act of 2015.

Under the reform act, all elected SK official must undergo a one-day mandatory training program before he or she can assume office. This targets to enable the elected SK officials to acquire the basic and necessary knowledge and skills for them to start performing their powers and functions in the much-improved and empowered Sangguniang Kabataan.

To give us in-depth details and features of the mandatory training program, Sulong Calabarzon holds a one-on-one discussion with Jay Beltran, Assistant Division Chief of the DILG IV-A Capability Development Division.

During the 30-minute program, Beltran also shares the preparatory activities being undertaken by the DILG and its partner institutions in rolling out the mandatory training program.
