Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary OIC-Secretary Eduardo Ano said that his first directive to Albayalde upon assumption to office is to scale up and implement nationwide the internal cleansing he successfully implemented in Metro Manila.
“My first instruction to incoming PNP Chief Albayalde is to go after PNP personnel who are a disgrace to their uniform, especially those who are AWOL, sleeping, non-performing, and drinking-on-the-job. Lahat ng mga pasaway na pulis, tanggalin sa serbisyo!,” he said.
He said that Albayalde should continue with vigor the reforms and internal cleansing of the PNP started by outgoing PNP Chief Ronald de la Rosa towards the implementation of the P.N.P Patrol Plan 2020 (Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and upholding of the Rule-of-Law).
“I told Gen. Albayalde to cleanse the police ranks of bad eggs in order make the DILG the best department in government. The PNP leadership should conduct more of the surprise inspections so that we can weed out the non-performing police office. As part of the DILG, the PNP must also conform to our brand which all DILG personnel know by heart,” Ano said.
He urged all DILG uniformed personnel to instill in themselves the DILG’s brand of “matino, mahusay, at maaasahan” in serving and protecting the people.
“As the next PNP Chief, I expect Gen. Albayalde to double his efforts to cleanse the ranks of police scalawags that tarnish the image of the entire police organization,” he said.
The DILG chief reminded the PNP that with the double pay for uniformed personnel, the entire PNP should step up their game really big time and be more committed in carrying out their respective roles in maintaining peace and order and ensuring public safety.
“Under Gen. Albayalde’s leadership, we are confident that the PNP can deliver Pres. Duterte’s promise to eradicate illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption,” Ano said.
