DILG-Cavite bags ‘best province’ award for 1st semester

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Cavite bagged the “Best Province” for the 1st semester of 2018 in ceremonies held Tuesday during the three-day Barangay Newly Elected Officials Program, Training of Trainers Seminar at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) in Tagaytay City.

DILG-Cavite Director Allan V. Benitez told Philippine News Agency on Wednesday that he is not just thankful, “because all our hard work paid off” but, at the same time, inspired “to be better, moving forward”.

The “Best Province” award is in recognition of the exemplary performance and commitment of the entire province in carrying out the DILG programs, projects and activities through outstanding compliance of report requirements.

Benitez felt honored that all the efforts of Team Cavite “were given credit, and recognized by our Regional Office through our (DILG) Regional Director Manuel Q. Gotis”.

The award, Benitez said, is the product of an all out effort of every DILG Cavite officers and personnel, citing their office’s service slogan, “Walang sapawan, walang inggitan, walang siraan, higit sa lahat nagtutulungan.” (No overlapping, no envy, no bickering, everyone helping each other)

The DILG Awards system, developed by the DILG 4A-Calabarzon regional office is composed of three categories: Field Officers’ Award (FOA), Cluster Operations Award and the Best Province Award (BPA) purposely to give recognition to performing officers/office vis a vis directives from the central and regional management.

The Cavite DILG Provincial office bagged seven out of 10 FOA, three Cluster Awards, besides the top plum “BPA.”

The certificate of recognition signed by Gotis best portrays a good and reliable public servant, the main thrust of DILG service. – PNA
