Last May 8, 2017, the DILG IV-A launched its online advocacy on the streamlining of Business Permit and Licensing System in the Calabarzon Region.
The BPLS Callouts is a collaborative initiative of the DILG IV-A and Rappler’s Move.PH to inform the public about the major reforms on the issuance of Business Permits and Licenses in line with the President’s call to promote ease of doing business in the country.
Developed by DILG IV-A’s newest Local Governance Resource Center (LGRC) Multi-Sectoral Advisory Committee partner, Rappler through its civic engagement arm Move. PH, the callouts enjoins business registrants who went through the process of acquiring or renewing their business permit with their respective LGUs to fill out the report at www.fightcorruption.ph./report.
The report will allow the three agencies (DILG, DTI and DICT) working on the streamlining process to develop interventions on how to assist LGUs in making their permitting processes globally competitive and conducive for businesses.
The initiative is now being considered by the Bureau of Local Government Development to be implemented nationwide, capitalizing on the online news agencies’ strong online presence and audience reach. —JBeltran
