Local government units (LGUs) in the Calabarzon Region are expected to scale up its efforts in promoting ease of doing business in their respective cities and municipalities following the release of the new Business Permit and Licensing System (BPLS) Standards.
To familiarize LGUs with the new licensing process standards, the DILG IV-A spearheaded an orientation on June 2 and 9 held at separate venues.
Signatories and main players on the streamlining initiative from the National Government Agencies, Department of Trade and Industry IV-A and the two clusters of the Department of Information and Communications Technology served as key persons for the said activity. BPLS Regional Coordination Committee Partners, Bureau of Fire Protection IV-A and Batangas State University were also present to clarify matters related to the provisions of the JMC.
Representative from the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) Mr. Faisah Dela Rosa was also present to provide insights on the initiatives of the BPLS oversight committee on the program.
The Regulatory Simplification for LGUs (RS4LGs) program of the Local Government Academy was also introduced to the participants which give them a more in-depth look and perspective on how to address the gaps in their licensing process. —JBeltran
