We at the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office IV-A denounces the killing of Puerto Galera Municipal Councilor, Melchor Arago, and his son, Kenneth Arago who were shot dead by two gunmen in front of their house in Barangay Tabinay in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro on October 3, 2017.
The DILG Regional Office IV-A condemns in the strongest possible terms this detestable act. We therefore call on the proper authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators of this crime into the bar of justice.
We share the grief of our colleague, Puerto Galera Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Sylvia Arago and her family for the untimely demise of her husband and son, offering them our deepest condolences and prayers for the comfort in this time of their bereavement.
While we denounce this heinous act, we call on the citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious personalities or activities to concerned law enforcement agencies to make sure that no similar crime will be committed.#
