Tracking the compliance of local government units in the submission of their peace and order plan will be a way more convenient following the Internet-based monitoring system developed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Called Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan Policy Compliance Monitoring System (POPSP CMS), the new online monitoring system is expected to ease the submission and monitoring of the plan formulation, funding requirements and accomplishments in the Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) plans.
The new online monitoring platform which blends technology and local governance provides real-time monitoring and automatic generation of required forms and templates.
POPSP CMS roll-out
Among the five provinces in the Calabarzon Region, the DILG Cavite Provincial Office takes pride in pioneering the rollout of the newest online monitoring platform of the Department.
To familiarize LGUs with the procedures and workarounds of the said system, DILG Cavite spearheaded a province-wide orientation and workshop on September 7 which was attended by peace and order focal persons and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers.
During the activity, participants were introduced to the main processes of the system including its background, processes, data input, and user-interface. They were also given the opportunity to experience the monitoring system first hand guided by a walkthrough facilitated by DILG Cavite POPS Focal Persons Alice Bay and May Ambata.
Hoping for an easier and more efficient submission of reports and monitoring, the DILG Cavite Provincial Director Allan V. Benitez aspires complete support from the trained functionaries for the success of the POPSP CMS.
The province of Cavite, including its cities and municipalities, has 100-percent approved POPS Plans.
Carrying the same objective, the POPSP PCMS was also rolled out in other provinces of the region.
