The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office IV-A has released its 2016 Annual Report showcasing achievements and remarkable accomplishments of the previous year.

The 32-page report produced by the Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) features a new approach that blends graphics, photos, and essays emphasizing the programs, projects, and activities of the DILG IV-A based on the sectoral outcomes set by the Department.

In his message, Regional Director Manuel Q. Gotis commended the untiring efforts and passion for work of the officials and employees from the regional and field offices for achieving and surpassing the targets despite the challenges they have encountered.

“This only proves how flexible we are when the occasion calls for it. Our dedication and selflessness were put into test and showed our urgent yet filling responses to the ever-changing demands of local government units (LGUs) and consequently to their constituents,” he said.

With the clear guidance of former Secretary Ismael D. Sueno and senior officials of the Central Office, the DILG IV-A was able to uphold its commitment to assist the 147 LGUs in the Calabarzon region to be more accountable, transparent, participative, and effective in rendering services to their constituents.

For the past year, the DILG IV-A has also strengthened these LGUs to become socially-protective and safe; environment-protective, climate change-adaptive, and disaster-resilient; and business-friendly and competitive.

Regional Director Gotis added that they will continue to step up their performance for the coming years to sustain and continuously improve its services in line with the Department’s thrust of achieving good governance at the local level.

Said report also contains the financial statement for the previous fiscal year and internal interventions of the DILG IV-A.
