TD Ramil maintains strength, Signal No. 1 up over 5 areas

Tropical Depression Ramil has maintained its strength as it moves toward Calamian Group of Islands, state weather bureau PAGASA reported Wednesday morning.

In its 8:00 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the center of Tropical Depression Ramil was located at 100 kilometers east of Coron, Palawan packing a maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kilometers hour.

Moving west at 20 kilometers per hour, Ramil is forecast to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains within its 200-kilometer diameter.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 has been raised over:

  • Northern Palawan including Calamian Group of Islands
  • Southern Occidental Mindoro
  • Southern Oriental Mindoro
  • Aklan
  • Antique

Residents of the said areas as well as Metro Manila, Bicol Region, CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), rest of MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) are advised to be alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

The state weather bureau added that sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon.

PAGASA also advised the public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned to take appropriate actions.
