TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — Enhanced peace and order situation will soon be realized in the  Province of Cavite as the provincial government formally adopted the Community Mobilization Project—a community-based anti-criminality strategy conceptualized by law enforcement and peace and order lead agencies in the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) Region.

Calabarzon Peace and Order Council Chair and Cavite Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla led the launching of the anti-criminality project by signing a Memorandum of Agreement and taking the Pledge of Commitment together with the Cavite Mayors’ League President and Carmona Mayor, Dahlia A. Loyola; ABC Provincial Federation President Francisco Paolo P. Crisostomo; Police Senior Supt. Arthur V. Bisnar of the Cavite Police Provincial Office; and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Cavite Provincial Director Allan V. Benitez.

Officials of the proponent agencies to include Calabarzon Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Ma. O R Aplasca, and DILG Regional Office IV-A Regional Director Manuel Q. Gotis were also present to witness the project launch. Said activity was also attended by personalities from national and local government units, religious sectors, anti-crime groups, academe, the coalition of force multipliers and advocacy groups from the different cities and municipalities, stakeholders and key officers of the Police Regional Office IV-A and provincial headquarters.

DILG Cavite Provincial Director Allan V. Benitez said the launching which brought together different sectors and organizations marks a new hope for the peace and order in the province of Cavite.

“As the increasing demand for more efforts in the fight against criminality and lawlessness arise, there is a need to formulate even greater projects and strategies,” said Benitez.

“This project serves as a complementary strategy to the Department’s anti-corruption and anti-illegal drugs flagship program MASA MASID or the Mamamayan Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamamayan Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga,” he added.

The Community Mobilization Project’s main objective, according to Calabarzon Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Ma. O R. Aplasca is to mobilize and capacitate the communities within the region in establishing a sustainable and efficient community defense mechanism against lawlessness and criminality by eliminating one or more elements of crime; opportunity and instrumentality.

The said project is a joint effort of the Police Regional Office IV-A, DILG Regional Office IV-A, and Liga ng mga Barangay sa Calabarzon. —DILG Cavite/R4A
