DILG Calabarzon, as the Vice-Chairperson for Disaster Preparedness, will conduct series of training on Public Service Continuity Planning that will ensure the continuous delivery of services regardless of disruptive events for both the Department and the local government units (LGUs).
As a kick off activity, in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) IV-A and the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), DILG Calabarzon conducted a 3-day Basic Training on Service Continuity Planning held on July 3-5, 2018 at Batangas City.
The seven-module course included several workshops participated by DILG IVA Regional Director, Assistant Regional Director, Provincial Directors, Division Chiefs, and other employees. Representatives of the Local Government Academy and other regional line agencies such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Public Works and Highways and Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory were also present during the activity.
“I am very happy with the effort and the initiative of the DILG in the formulation of their PSCP (Public Service Continuity Plan) and the active participation of everyone in this training,” Ms. Florian Rhiza Nery of PDRF who also served as one of the resource speakers said.
Expressing her appreciation to the management of the Department, “It’s really good to see that all the directors of DILG Calabarzon are also here. It just goes to show that the management of the DILG Calabarzon is in full support of this endeavor,” she added.
Participants of the training also manifested their support to the regional management for the said initiative.
“We (provincial and field offices) are very thankful of the regional management for realizing na importante talaga ‘to kasi malaki ang inaasahan sa atin ng mga LGU considering that the Department is the bridge of the National Government to them, so it’s high time that the Department ay magkaroon ng ganitong activity,” Ryan Geronimo of DILG Cavite said.
The second leg of the program, the formulation of the Public Service Continuity Plan of the DILG Regional and Provincial/HUC offices, will happen from July to August. This will be followed by a training of trainers which aims to create a pool of trainers who will cascade the same to LGUs.
