Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991 gives barangays the power to enforce peace and order and to provide support for the effective enforcement of human rights and justice.

Sulong Calabarzon speaks to Local Government Operations Officer Brian Ballon to provide us a clear understanding of how Katarungang Pambarangay or Barangay Justice System works.

Ballon explains the procedures and processes of the Barangay Justice System as an alternative venue for the resolution of disputes through non-adversarial means. He also expounds specific points on the disputes and offenses covered by the Katarungang Pambarangay.
