The southwest monsoon has weakened but most parts of the country will continue to experience rainshowers and thunderstorms due to a low pressure area (LPA), according to state weather bureau PAGASA on Thursday.

In its 4:00 pm bulletin, PAGASA said that the LPA was located at 460 Km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur and will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms to Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, and the Provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

The same weather condition with moderate to occassionally heavy rains will be experienced in Palawan due to prevailing Southwest Monsoon.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will continue to experience generally fair weather with isolated rainshowers mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over Northen and Central parts of Luzon. The same winds coming from the southwest meanwhile will prevail over Southern Luzon and the rest of the archipelago with slight to moderate seas. —R4A/DOST-PAGASA
